Summary: The business environment is characterized by diversity and ongoing change. In this environment entrepreneurs cannot always use given ‘roadmaps’ from management and entrepreneurship textbooks or from to learn good decision making and to lead and manage their start-ups or ventures as encouraged by the USTCI. In times of change they often have to create their own, new ‘roadmaps’ to their way through unknown territory.

The AEI believes that the advent of cloud-based CRM applications has eliminated the significant initial budgetary barriers to entry for many small businesses.
